Tico Belle returns to the sky!

I'm very happy to report that the VAC's C-47 "Tico Belle" successfully flapped her wings yesterday for the first time after an extensive 8 year rebuild! Congrats to all involved!!

Up, up, and away! Wind beneath her wings again!!! Gotta feel so good! She looks nice, but those invasion stripes, you sure you painted them with a mop!? They look so clean! :wink: Now you need to find 30 guys if full gear that are crazy enough to jump out of a perfectly good airplane!

That's really great news!

I sure hope they don't paint it. I think it looks really good/authentic having so many different colours of green and the patchy-ness of it. Looks great!

Think I heard they recently found a photo of what this particular aircraft
actually looked like in combat.
Believe the correct lettering/numbers are as shown in this years airshow
poster below, not what is currently on the a/c.
Would not be surprised if that much is repainted.
