Today was the first flight of the Oscar. Everything went well and I'll post pics after I get home.

Terrific news! She looks awesome too. Love that style of paint scheme. Congratulations to all involved.

Cheers,

Thanks for reporting the news of the first flight. We have been waiting for this for a long time. Thanks for the pictures too. It looks great.
I hope Oscar #2 isn't far behind.

That is one of the most awesome things ever. It totally ranks right up there with the most exciting projects to date.

I have two questions though.

1.) Is that Howard Pardue flying her?

2.) Do you guys close to the project have any idea if they plan to attend some events with her before she goes to Tillamook? I am working on inviting some aircraft for our Collings Foundation event down here in Houston in April and it would awesome to have the Oscar attending. I totally know that it is a long shot but thats OK. It is worth trying anyways.

Thanks,
Ryan

I can answer the first one....No, it wasn't.

As for the second one, I have no idea what they are going to do. Flight testing time has to be flown off and I don't know how long that will take, prolly not till after the April event you mentioned. You could contact TAF and maybe find out that way.

Thanks for the reply Capt.

I wasn't sure if that was Howard or not put the person in the pictures kind of looked like him.

I kind of figured that the testing program wouldn't be finished by then. It makes it even harder with our event being the first weekend in April. I guess it never hurts to contact TAF. I'll maybe try that tomorrow.

Thanks,
Ryan

Heard the same thing, down she goes again, damage described as minor....gotta do something about those landing gear to shore/strengthen them up! Another couple of months I reckon before she goes again...
