Wow, that's sad that the collection is selling off. I remember visiting there in the early 90's when I visited my college roommate who was going to Naval flight training at Pensacola. The memorabilia in that place was like a museum - just unbelievable. It was a fun and wild place - a great place to hang out for pilots!

I thought that a lot, if not most of that stuff ended up at the NNAM there at Pensacola?

The items sold were not from the bar, but from Martin "Trader Jon" Weissman's home.

Most of the items from his bar on Palafox are at the University of West Florida, in Pensacola.

I have said it before on here, for those of you that never visited the world's greatest aviation bar, I am sorry. Those of you that did know what a vast collection of items that Trader had. I am glad to see that the items sold were from his daughters collection, & I understand that eventually the items previously donated to UWF will be displayed at the new Maritime Museum in Pensacola.
