I think what was meant by rare was that the initial item being talked about is supposed to be an actual original wartime slide, rather than a modern duplicate. If it is indeed an original image, then it's probably worth every penny of its asking price, but who can tell from what is shown. The shots being sold by Airmailbyair on the other hand are all digital prints, made from whatever copy of an image they could lay their hands on. It's a laugh though when they say they have the original image, as I see a lot of photos that are clearly from the National Archives, Imperial War Museum, Life Magazine etc. Still, it is a useful resource if you need it.

This particular photo is one of a series which was first published in the color edition of "Luftwaffe im Focus". Unless it's Axel Urbanke selling it, then it is a FRAUD. Caveat emptor, of course, but I strongly, STRONGLY doubt that any of the main contributors to LiF are parting with their collection... more like someone trying to pull some shady garbage and con unknowing people out of several hundred bucks.

The REAL laugh is how the image is stamped "Copyright Protected". Good luck with copyrighting an original image shot by a member of the German Armed Forces during WWII 72 years after the fact, pal.

at Lynn: FRAUD is what airmailbyuir or what his name is is trying to sell in Austalia.
Richard gave a good description what most likely happend.
Axel Urbanke like you said first published it in Luftwaffe Focus Magazine.
THAT however does not mean he is the owner of the originals.
Like with many other pictures he just paid money to individuals to publish their colour wartime pictures.
