Warbirds in Yemen, Colombia and Libya. (Lots of pics)

All these are from a recent trip. (and the reason I wasn't at Reno and the Mustang gathering) Sorry for the quality of some of them. Cameras aren't always welcome at some of the places I visit...

Brad,

Which one did you bring back for me?

What were you doing down in Columbia (sorry, Colombia)? Selling your airplanes back to the air force there.

Looks like a Junkers W-33, and going by the others, with the Ju-52/3m, and FAC on the tails at the Colombian Aviation Museum at a guess?

The Junkers W.33 would be the oldest aircraft there. Good to see the museum's repainting the Bell too.

Thanks Brad.

EDIT: Looks line a W.34 - see: http://www.geocities.com/hjunkers/ju_w33_a1.htm

EDIT2: Getting the right place... Sorry Tulio.

Isn't Columbia, the district where Washington, D.C. is?

Why would the Columbians need airplanes?

Colombia, on the other hand . . . .

Saludos,

Tulio

James, I believe that the same principles as stated in another thread (see quoted text below) should also apply in the case of the names of countries and / or people / and or aircraft names, or manufacturers.

Pheonix versus Phoenix
Hangar versus Hanger
Boing versus Boeing
Columbia versus Colombia
Salvador versus El Salvador
Dominica versus Republica Dominicana or Dominican Republic

I could go on, and on, but I believe that these would help to make my point.

It's harsh to say, but it is ignorance, and a lack of respect, at base, that comes up with such a careless approximation . . . . .

Could this be assumed to be pedantry, too? : )

Saludos!
