Well visiting the Collings foundation today. For the first time I tried out shooting in RAW. Well got home to upload them onto my computer. But all pictures turned out small. So my girlfriend saved me by converting them back to JPG. What did I do wrong?

Second...I am only just starting to monkey with my photos on my computer using Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. I am learning the auto-fix pretty well. And I know a few of you gave me some tips the other week about this. But I am still having problems croping my pictures. First I am guessing this is what most people do to gain some more closeness to your subject? Thats what I got in my mind now and I feel its something I should do.

I know this all probably sounds pretty rookie with me. But you see since I have been learning its been more or less learning in skip mode. I guess I am just a slow learner on this.

I upload mine into a program called "Digital Photo Professional". I also shoot
RAW and jpeg so I get 2 of each picture. 1 RAW and 1 jpeg.
Uses up card space pretty quickly, but all ya' have to do is stick in another card. Don't know how "small" the small is you're talking about, but with my program they all come up about 1.5"x1.5" and I just click on whatever pic I want to see in full screen.

Are you sure the "little pics" you got are not just the thumbnail and the raw file is not opened?

Making Monkeys with photos.....just not sure how to do that!


It is best to frame your photo in the camera rather than cropping it, which means getting closer, or getting bigger ($$$$) lens!
