I know it's a bit of a long shot without a photo (haven't got one at the moment), but can anyone ID a relic from a Hurricane from this decription.

The relic is made of aluminium, and looks to be a control knob of some sort. It has five thin 'fingers' in a star arangement, with a tubular shaft rivited to the centre on one side.

I've looked at a number of cockpit interior shots of the Hurricane, including the pilot's notes, but can't see anything like it. Could it be from somewhere other than the cockpit?

Hopefully I should have a photo of the relic by Monday. In the meantime, any ideas would be most welcome.

Geoff

My guess would be that it was used for the radiator door, on the bottom.

Through the FlyPast forum I've discovered it's used to adjust the rudder bar back and forth for the taller or shorter pilot, on the Hurricane.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Geoff.
