Never seen ( for me at least ): Vindicator on float

From Aerofiles:

Quote:
XSB2U-3 1939 = 825hp R-1535-102, extra fuel tanks. POP: 1 conversion from SB2U-1, experimentally fitted with twin EDO pontoons [0779]. Results were not impressive and the ship was returned to wheels

I'm amazed it got off the water!!! I had never heard of a float Vindicator either. Ather aircraft that always looks to me as if it doesn't have the power to fly is the Junkers Ju-52 (not the -3m trimotor, the single engine job!!)

i've seen these pics before. while it may have flown like a cinder block on floats i think it looks pretty nice. i've seen helldivers on floats, wildcats, spitfires, to name a few. i've got a soft spot for seaplanes & the above too even though the experiments never panned out in that experimental configuration.
