Phwoar, very droolworthy, Jack. What are the aircraft in the background of the Sgt Moke photo? They look Japanese.

From left to right, the first two appear to be Vultee P-66.

The third bird sure looks like a Curtiss-Wright CW-21 Demon.

Great pic all around!

Well, would you look at that...

(This from the Dan Ford site concerning the CW-21)

From Chinese sources comes word that two CW-21s were built by the Chinese. This is partially confirmed by a photograph taken at Kunming in the summer of 1942 showing a P-40 of the U.S. 16th Fighter Squadron under maintenance. In the background can be seen P-66s of the Chinese Air Force and two aircraft identifiable as CW-21s

Good stuff!
What's the little round engine bird in back ground of this pic? A wingless Fairchild UC-61A??

Looks like a low wing Stinson in the background.

They could teach monkeys to maintain P-40s better than that! Oh look! They did.

Anybody got a source for monkeys. We are thinking of training them to be pilots, that would be so much easier than training them to be mechanics!

I know we talked about it before, but has anyone ever seen the pic of a Flying Tigers pilot with a real Tiger on his P-40?

I can give you the secret coordinates to Monkey Island!
According to Kirsten aka Beachy aka Beachgirl I have severe monkey related issues.

It was a leopard that belonged to "Burma Bob" Locke one of the ground crew assigned to HQ.

I know we always talk about how many restored P-40's have the shark's mouth on it, but it also seemed like even during the war that alot P-40's not in the AVG had the shark's mouth as well.
