With deep regret I have been informed that Murray Griffiths passed away yesterday morning. More http://www.warbirdz.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1257.
For those here that don't know, Murray's company, Precision Aerospace, was responsible for the rebuild of the TFC P-40F that was delivered prior to and featured in Legends 2011 at Duxford. Precision Aerospace has a number of other exciting projects underway for other customers and lets hope that these are seen through to completion.
My condolences to his family in this very trying time.

A sad loss indeed, especially hard on the children with his wife passing away as well a few months back. Haven't heard what will happen to the currrent projects at Precision, but no doubt some juggling to occur...

Dave

It is very sad news indeed. My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues, and to the Australian warbird industry as a whole.

Wow, I never saw this coming. :? I corresponded with Murray a number of times over the years and it goes without saying that his efforts and ambitions are legendary in the warbird world. I had always hoped to make the trip to visit his shop one day. Had he fallen ill recently, or was this unexpected?

I met him briefly at Oshkosh '05 and he was a very pleasant and knowledgeable fellow. Always a big smile.

Surely a great loss to family, friends, and the warbird community.

Blue skies

I hope it's not misconstrued as being nosey, but what did he die from,as he didn't seem to be very old.Was it an accident or something? A terrible shame whatever the cause nontheless. My condolences to his family.
