I was wondering if anyone knew more about these men or their aircraft.

Fred Weddle was a B-26 Invader pilot in Korea. On one mission, the steering got shot out, the nose was blown away, and it was at night, but somehow he contacted someone via radio and made it home. When he got up the next day, he was shown his aircraft. He had no idea it was that bad, especially since his radio was just a hunk of metal that had been fused together. Later he flew just about every aircraft in the SAC. He was ranked high enough that he did not have to request permission to fly. He just filed a flight plan and went. He passed away a few years ago.

Bob Dawson flew B-25s in WWII, but transferred to F4Us. Just after the war, he was involved in an air accident (Corsair landing, I believe) and was blinded for life. He now lives in Wichita.

Can anyone tell me anymore about them? I've met Bob Dawson, but haven't had much time to talk to him about his experiences. If anyone has any pics, info they can post, I would appreciate it.
