After all of the bannings and general tighter grip on politics, asshattery and general bad behavior that Scott has instituted, do you feel that WIX has become a friendlier place?

Personally I feel like it's been a vast improvement to be able to open a thread and not find yet another political argument going on, or having to put up with the insults and jibes at me for my political beliefs.

Thanks Scott!

I think things have been going very well indeed. For the most part, we've been getting along very well indeed.

Cheers,
Richard

I am not sure that it is better or worse as I never paid much attention to those folks.
Feel that like everything in this world it is what you make of it. As a friend once told me " you are as happy as you make up your mind to be".

I finish more pages here with less headaches and clenched jaws, so I'd say it's better.

I miss the wisdom and awareness that some of the e-departed brought, but not the propensity for douchebaggery.

Hmm...think I'm gonna open up a store to sell luggage to idiots and fools...I'll call it the DoucheBaggerie. Any investors interested?

I don't miss the vitriol, political attacks, and threads that sometimes degenerated into knife fights in a phone booth (remember phone booths?).

But I do miss some of the banned guys' contributions; we're missing a lot of wit, knowledge, and interesting opinion.

I'm thinking that perhaps the best way we have to honor and remember Gary is to post to each other in the same spirit he did to us, or, in the immortal words of Mgawa, "talk to each other like gentlemen". With respect, consideration, you know, stuff like that.

I have to say I miss Bill a lot as well. I really hate that he can't share his knowledge any more, and I still think of him every time I eat BarBQ. Hopefully he'll get his bird back in the air and we'll be hearing more of him in the future.

The NMUSAF sucks.

I hate paint schemes that aren't 100% accurate.

If it's not flying, it's not a warbird and therefore sucks.

Pappy Boyington and Chuck Yeager are my favorites.

What's the serial number on that Skyraider part?

FWIW, I feel that WIX has improved a lot since the troublemakers were banned. Overall, the attitude has been much more friendly and there has been very little controversy. Granted, some of the banned ones did contribute interesting and useful information, but the trouble and unrest that they caused and their unwillingness to follow the clearly defined rules of etiquette, especially after being warned repeatedly by the moderators, certainly justified their removal. The mods are to be commended for their patience and fairness in dealing with the banned ones. They offered the offenders numerous chances to clean up their acts, and in the end, they had a tough job to do, and they did it well.

Cheers,

Actually it's ''what's the serial numbers of all the Skyraider's parts''

Now if we could do something about the Warbird Registry.
