tom oscarduece / chris mustangdriver, the reefs off kelley's island are so shallow pleasure boats often get hung up on them. great for yellow perch & walleye fishing, bad for crashing aluminum. if their was a corsair their i would have smelled it on birth 48 years ago. that place is boats, beer, boobies, & cute butts in the summer (we will make that our salvage command post for the recovery if their) the inland seas maritime museum is in vermilion, ohio 1 block from my 2 stores. the director is a good customer of mine, i'll ask him about it. most of the erie islands are in very shallow waters, i've inquired to many recreational divers & SHIP WRECK CHASERS about aircraft wrecks on the u.s. side of the lake with no answers. p.s. the museum is moving to toledo ohio in 2011, a done deal & i'm pissed.
