This month includes:
1. Dan Blanchard flying the Lone Star Flight Museum’s Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat over Galveston, TX. The aircraft is painted in the markings of Lt. A Vraciu who was credited with 19 aerial victories.
2. Retired Brig. General Reg Urschler flying the CAF’s N.A. P-51D Mustang “Gunfighter” over the early morning steam coming off of Lake Travis near Austin, TX.
3. Wearing a 4th Fighter Group paint scheme, Mark Henley flies the Collings Foundation's N.A.TP-51C Mustang “Betty Jane” over California's Sacramento Valley during the Wings of Freedom tour.
4. Alan Wojack flying West-Pac's P-47D Thunderbolt enroute from Rialto to Chino, CA for the 2006 Planes of Fame Airshow.
5. Lt. Col Charlie “Tuna” Hainline flying the McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom and Major Jason “Bondo” Costello in the McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle at the 2005 CAF FINA Airshow in Midland, TX.
6. Brian Sanders, with Jason Schillereff in the back seat, flying Mike Brown’s Grumman F7F-3P Tigercat “Big Bossman” back from the 2008 Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV. This warbird is now owned by Rod Lewis of San Antonio, TX.
7. Don Fisher, with back seater Wayne Ritchie, flying the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Fairchild PT-26B Cornell “Spirit of Little Norway” from Brampton to its base in Hamilton after attending the Great War Flying Museum's annual fly-in on September 13, 2009.
8. Geoff Cooper flying the NZ Warbirds' Douglas DC-3 over the Waihopai Valley area in the days leading up to Classic Fighters 2007. The aircraft had just received this new color scheme and regularly takes people for warbird rides around Auckland and at the airshows it visits.
9. Dave and Robin Hadfield's beautiful Fairchild 24 CF-EKC. A F24W46, it is seen being flown by Dave over Georgian Bay, Ontario.
10. The US Navy Blue Angels' Lockheed C-130T Hercules "Fat Albert" support aircraft seen performing a Jet-Assisted Take-Off (JATO) on the last day of the 2009 Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV.
11. United Air Lines’ Boeing 747-400 flying a clean pass over San Francisco Bay during Fleet Week 2009. The last couple of years the organizers have added airliner passes to the lineup of air show performers.
12. Stephen Grey seen displaying his newly acquired Hawker Sea Fury T.20 at the 2009 Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford Airfield, U.K.
