The ad says to reply to Jeff Thomas. Does that ring any bells? That is Paul Allen's right hand man for the flight museum!

One possibility is someone was attempting to make an orchard fan out of it. Lots of automotive muscle engines got yanked out as well as surplus aircraft engines to be used to turn freeze warning fans for growers of delicate crops like oranges, tomatoes, and so forth. When a freeze warning goes out running big fans keeps the air moving and just warm enough to stop destruction of crops in the fields.
(so, if I hear about a possible freeze tonight in Florida, why is the orange thats already here in the store now over a buck when it was 46 cents yesterday?)
