I talked to Bill Guarneer, and Dick Winters before. Got autographed pictures and a really nice letter from Dick Winters. Those are great guys. I would love to meet some of these guys. I have been meaning to try and get over there to check this museum out too. This would be a great excuse.

I was at the Band of Brothers Reunion in Omaha on Dec4/5th . It was a fantastic event. The reception the vets got was one of the greatest I have ever seen. There were people who drove all night and slept out in 12* weather to have the chance to meet these men. The Cornhuskers do it right. Babe Heffron was thrilled with the kindness and friendlyness of the crowd. I hope some WIXers got there and I am sorry I didn't get a chance to meet them.

My hat is off to Tim Fyda, Bill and Evonne Williams . They threw one, as Babe said, "Hell of a wing ding" !

Sounds like a fun Wing-Ding (they better not have dinged any wings though!) Here is a nice article with pics of the gentlemen in attendance. http://www.omaha.com/article/20091206/NEWS01/712069875

My wife and I also attended the event. It was something that I'm sure will never happen again. The event drew over 1,400 people and I was pleased to see so many young people were in attendance. When I say young I mean teenagers and people in their 20's.

Jiggersfromsphilly, I would like to thank you for bringing this event to the attention of us here on the WIX. It was well worth the drive and while we were there we checked out some of what Omaha has to offer. All in all a great trip.

Thanks Pat. I am sorry we didn't get to meet. I was at the table with Babe and I was wearing the jump jacket.

I must have seen you there. Babe was the 1st autograph I got. Were you "in charge" of Babe? I hear he flew out in a chartered jet. Now I have to get the "Brothers in Battle" book signed by "Wild" Bill Guarnere.

In Charge of Babe??? It's more like get the hell out of his way! I was just there for medicinal purposes only!
