After a post by a member frustrated by another member's posting behaviour, here's something I noticed that comes with the new WIX system.

You can now ignore posters who you don't wish to hear from or see post.

Go to your 'User Control Panel' (near the top right below the WIX sign), click. In the new page you'll see 'Manage Friends and Foes' and under 'Manage Foes' it has instructions on how to add members you'd rather ignore.

No more problem from 'whatsisname'.

Voila!

Thank you James -- That will not help with stupid and offensive PMs, though, and the latter have been mentioned a couple of times as an issue with this poster...

Hi Neil,
That's true, I hadn't realised.

However PMs can be ignored (and or deleted unread) based on the poster's name, whereas you don't know who may have posted within a thread until you open it.

Regards

I laughed out loud when I saw this title, assuming JDK was going to tell us of an actual place we could send people to that we wished to ignore.
What a Christmas Present THAT would be, eh?
Happy Holidays,
John

Well, I for one don't intend to use the ignore feature. It tends to leave some threads with a bit of mystery to them - when folks respond to comments you never saw! I guess we'd all be better off not responding to things we don't like then starting arguments that don't profit.
