I remember back when it was a pile of parts off to one side by the door! It'll be grand to see her in air one day...

I think its slowly going forward.
My impression from the visit I made was:
The museum consists of volunteers and work is done a few days a week (maybe only one). But it has moved forward from when I say it in 2002 (I think). I wish time could be sped up on the project, I would love to see it in the air sooner then later.

Great shots, Glad to see that the P-39 is not hidden under the plastic anymore, I assume they are working on that again. Is that going to fly some time in the future or is it going to be static?

Hi Chris!

Great pictures. Thanks! Do have any pictures of the T28 in this picture?
http://www.dataviewbooks.com/p39-4.jpg

I haven't seen that color scheme before and I didn't know the Army used T28B's. I don't see why they shouldn't of, It just didn't occur to me. I'm fowarding a link to this thread to a bud who used to work with drones. Maybe he will know.

Thanks again!

O.P., Pima acquired 2 really nice T-28s fresh out of AMARC about 14 years ago that were in Army markings. They looked like standard Navy paint schemes except that they said ARMY on the fuselage. I believe these were the last T-28s in military service. They were used as chase aircraft and were maintained under contract withe Raytheon. The only preservation we saw on them from AMARC was the silver foil paper taped around the front of the cowl. Pima had them advertised in Trade A Plane for 75,000.00 ea. They were in for several months before they sold.
