I remember reading the book back when I was in elementary school (some 30-odd years ago.) Definitely a great story!

Here is a link to the broadcast in the program guide...
http://www.cbc.ca/programguide/program/ ... e_shepherd

Frequencies can be found here...
http://www.cbc.ca/frequency/

The reading is part of the long-time running program As it Happens, and airs on December 24th at 6:30 PM.

Now the great part is that if you can't be by your radio at 6:30 PM, or are not in broadcast range of a transmitter you can listen to the broadcast from a stream on the net, just pick a city in the time zone of your choice here...

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I still have an old paperback copy of the book. It is a classic for CBC to air. They always do!
