Hi all

the recent developments regarding Dean Gilmore's aircraft led me to the decision to add a "Dean R. Gilmore Tribute" page to my website.

This is to honor a young man who paid the ultimate price in service for his country and for a free world.

Thank you, Karen & all.

At the moment I am experiencing trouble with my provider [ :axe: ] re. uploading data to my website - this is why at present no photos can be seen.

Sorry for that - I will stomp on their toes soonest.

Martin

Okay - the page is again fully accessible.

Anyone out the who has more photographs of 111th TRS F-6's (both Allison and Merlin engined) ? Or Bartow based training aircraft (L-codes) ?

Cheers
Martin

I think Scott should make a link on the board here to go straight to it.

Dear Martin,

I emailed your page to everyone I know, and I have been getting calls from relatives on both sides of my family all night, telling me what a wonderful generous thing you have done for Dean and for our family!

I also revisited the page, for the 17th time, I believe, and you know I have been thinking today. I believe in my heart that this has all turned out the way it is supposed to.

I NEED for you and all the other guys who have been so kind to my family to know this:........ what you have all done for us, means MORE to me then if I had the chance to see the plane painted in her original markings. What you all did came from your hearts, and to me that is priceless! I believe if Dean were here he would salute each of you! Then he would probably buy ya all a cold one!!

Our deepest gratitude to you all!

Karen

Martin:

Excellent work!!

There is a good unit book on the 111th, but I have not seen it in a very long time. My dear buddy John Dazio (CAF) went to Korea with this unit, and years later he showed me the book with the unit's history, from the early days on.

There is also a book titled The National Guard (I am going to risk it saying that the author is Rene Francillon, but I am not sure) and has a couple of pages with photos and data on this unit and their aircraft.

I wish I could be of more assistance, but since as usual, I am not home, I do not have access to my books.

Saludos,

Tulio
