Warbird Information Exchange

I was wondering if a Canadian harvard that was in storage at Dunville in 1960s and that had the number 300 on it still survives?

Can't vouch for the present day, but in the late Sixties, Harvard 4 20300 (marked 300:RCAF) was parked outside in the Age Of Flight Museum compound in Niagara Falls ON. See Eric Dumigan's website, "Pics From The Past" section for a photo of 20300 taken at AoF by Eric's dad Richard.

There may also have been a Harvard Mk.II s/n 3300, which in late-50s RCAF marks would have worn a two-letter unit/base code plus the "last three" of the serial, ie **:300 in that case...

Neither 3300 or 20300 are listed in Warbirds Directory 4.

Thanx for the link...That's Mk.4 20300, which not more than a couple years later would have been at Niagara Falls at AoF. All that stuff was sold off circa 1968 (including Lanc KB889). I'll see what I can find on her. Of at least as much interest is the other Harvard 4 at far left in the pic, which is 20213--she went to Lindsay, Ontario, as CF-UUU, and has been flying with Canadian Warplane Heritage out of Mt.Hope for the past 32 years! Neat to see a pic of her (well, part of her anyway) in original service finish.

Thats lancaster FM212 not KB889 it is due to come down from her perch next month. Is harvard 300 no longer around then?

Hi Peter--

The Lanc in your photo is FM212, but the one that was at Age Of Flight was KB889 (AoF's stuff was what I was referring to as having been sold off). 889 went to Oshawa, then to the UK for Doug Arnold, and is now in the IWM collection at Duxford. Re Harvard 300, I forgot to check my main ref source for Harvards last night; will let you know what I find out. It does seem odd that 20300 doesn't show up at all in WW Dir 4th edition; even if she had been lost more recently she was certainly in civilian hands (AoF's) in the 60s...I'm intrigued!

Would be neat if she was still around as well and a reunion of sorts was held with all three aircraft together....
