Hi Guys,

I have so enjoyed the links to the tributes to our veterans that you all have been so kind to provide. I have been printing everything so my Dad can read them as well. This got me thinking....... Now let me preface this by saying, we are looking at probably a minimum of six months time frame, as I have a lot going on right now.......

What I would love to do is create a book of tributes to the veterans of WWII, through our eyes. Whether they survived the war or not, their stories are worth telling, and sharing with the future generations. Whether they were celebrated heroes, or the incredibly dedicated common man, I want my family to know of their sacrifices.

I will do this as a total profit for Scott. I will only accept text, via email, or http: sorry guys, but I don't have time to do that much typing! I will accept pictures any way you want to send them. Depending on how much of a response I get, and I pray it is huge!!!, I may have to limit the photo's to six? eight? I don't know yet.

I will NOT limit the number of stories you send me. If you know one, send one, if you know a dozen, send them all.

I realized there are still a lot of our veterans out there that would love to hear of their fellow comrades tales, but do not have computers to read what we all are writing. My Dad is a perfect example of this! I also know of at least two of our veterans who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, and I would love to speak to them about their experiences.

So, let me know what you think guys! If you want to participate, but are really busy right now, no problem, just let me know, and I will save a spot for you......or in the best of all worlds do a volume two.

I look forward to your responses!

Best wishes,
Karen

Hi Karen--

Kickstarting the replies, maybe...Another nice idea, which would also work as a new section of the WIX Downloads (like Mike H's Walt Soplata listing, which also keeps expanding and being updated).

Far as I can ascertain none of my relatives were airmen during WWII. There was one fighter pilot in the family postwar--my Dad's uncle (same familial link as between you and Dean Gilmore), RCAF F/L Reg Slee. Sadly I never met him: he was killed in a midair collision between two Sabres in 1955, a decade before I was born. I'm starting to hunt for info about him though, and will post to WIX anything interesting I turn up...

Cheers

S.
