Hello all,
I've been a bit silent while I was registered here. But now, I wil share some pics of the local oldtimer team here. This is the flying Legends team which operates from the airfield of Kortrijk-Wevelgem in Belgium (europe).
To start, the first aircraft that was bought by the founder of the team 16 years ago. This is theis Stampe SV4c OO-LYR which was built in 1946 and served with the french airforce:
Next one is the other Stampe SV4 (OO-SVT) of the group. It also dates from 1946 but was later converted to SV4D standard with a lycoming engine:
The team also flies a 1942 Boeing Stearman. It is registered as OO-USN:
Now the oldest plane of the team. This is a 1935 DH82a Tigeer Moth with the tegistration OO-TGM:
What do you think about this nice french Morane Saulnier MS230 (OO-MOR) which dates from 1938.
And now the more rare planes; This is the Bucker Bu133C Jungmeister (OO-EII) of the team. This plane was built in Germany in 1936 with SN 051. It doesn't fly often, but it is maintained in perfect condition and can start any minute. It is seen here during such a rare flight in may 2004:
Another rare bird is the sole flying Valtion VL Viima II left in the world. Only 23 examples of this nice trainer where built in 1938 in Finland. The design was based on the German FW44 Stieglitz. But it des look a bit different. It proved to be a good trainer and it was used with succes by the local airforce. This Viima is registered as OO-EBL.
And to close, here is the teams Hawker Fury MKI reproduction. This big plane was built in the UK 25 years ago anh has an original Kestrel engine as used in the original Hawker Fury's. It was built with the original drawings of the Hawker Fury. I dont need to tel you that this is an impressive machine. It was on show at the shuttleworth museum in the UK during 2001-2003. It returned to its owner in 2003 and is stored at this point. It could get ready to start and be flown on request.
So, I hope you like these.
Greets,
Stieglitz
