The February 2010 Desktop Calendars are now available from the Warbird Depot website; http://www.warbirddepot.com/desktop_calendars.asp along with new Mobile Phone Wallpapers; http://www.warbirddepot.com/photo_mobile_wallpapers.asp .

This month includes:

1. Russell Aviation Group’s rare Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, being flown by Walter Eichorn, over Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The Bf 109 is powered by a rare Daimler Benz DB601 and is painted in Hans-Joachim Marseille’s colors as White 14.

2. Ray Dieckman and Steve Barber flying a pair of FG-1D Corsairs in formation at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation's Warbird Weekend in Sevierville, TN. The Corsair in the foreground is now owned by Rod Lewis based in San Antonio, TX and the other is owned by Vintage Wings of Canada based in Gatineau, Quebec.

3. Mike Potter is seen flying the Vintage Wings of Canada Mk.XVI Spitfire SL721 over the Gatineau, Quebec countryside after performing in a Battle of Britain Flypast over Ottawa, Ontario in September 2008.

4. Stuart Tantrum is seen flying one of seven Fokker Triplanes operated by The Vintage Aviator Limited. The seven were flown together at Classic Fighters 2007 and this was the first time in seven decades that seven Dr.1's had been seen flying together. All aircraft are painted in authentic color schemes of Jasta 11 and this one is painted in Richard Wenzyl's colors in which he shot down 12 aircraft during the Great War.

5. Mark Murphy's recently restored SNJ-5C “Sweet Diane”, being flown by Duane Carroll and back seater Scott Lewis, over Lake Sacandaga in upstate New York. The SNJ, restored by Midwest Texans, is complete with the original tailhook and trapeze setup used for carrier landing training,.

6. Tiger Moth ZK-BMY was restored over several years by Stuart and Wayne Tantrum at Omaka in New Zealand. The aircraft flew for the first time in mid 2008 and Wayne is seen here flying the aircraft over the Redwood Pass near Omaka. In early 2009 the aircraft headed to proud new owners on the North Island of New Zealand.

7. Alister Kay seen flying the Old Flying Machine Company's N.A. P-51D Mustang “Ferocious Frankie” during the 2008 Flying Legends Airshow in Duxford, England.

8. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Lancaster I PA474 “City of Lincoln’, seen at RAF Waddington during a landing appearance away from its RAF Coningsby base.

9. The Sanders family's Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 "Argonaut", being flown by C.J. Stephens, enroute to the 2008 National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV.

10. Bernie Vasquez flying his modified clipped wing 1946 Taylorcraft BC-12D, powered by an O-320 160 hp engine, over Woodland CA.

11. Douglas C-54G 44-9072 (cn27298) taken on the military side of Portland IAP (KPDX) September 25, 1971 while serving with the Oregon Air National Guard (123rd Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 142nd Fighter Interceptor Group). By the mid 80s it was operating in Canada as C-GFFQ. This aircraft was built as a C-54E.

12. Taken during Red Flag 09-2 February 2009. This Harrier GR 9 belongs to 1 Squadron, Based at RAF Cottesmore, UK. and is about to land after completing an hour sortie over the Nellis AFB range in Nevada. It is seen carrying one of the new Enhanced GBU-16 PGM.
