Snowed in here and bored so I thought this may be a bit fun. Who is your favorite. Can be from a book or a movie. A few of mine are;

Man. This "favorites" business is harder than I might have thought.

'Cause then there's ol' Yossarian, and heck, what about Waldo Pepper? And Marco, from Miyazaki's great animated feature Porco Rosso?

Feeling a little ( but just a little) guilty that I'm not out planting the spring lawn and washing the pickup before it gets too warm, and seeing that my favorite pilots are already taken, members of other crews come to mind:

Horatio Hornblower (the series) and Commander Krause, who was The Good Shepherd, both from the pen of C S Forrester.

Ericson and Lockhart, inseperable on the bridges of both Compass Rose and Saltash, sailing together through the pages of The Cruel Sea, by Nicholas Monserratt.

My dad told me once that if I ever wanted to know what it was like for him in the North Atlantic to read The Good Shepard and The Cruel Sea. I did. Many times.

Great Uncle was the cameraman on the Cruel Sea movie (Joe Jago):)

There were 9 brothers. 4 of the other 8 were in the RN & all served on HMS Queen Elizabeth

The other 4 (including my Grandfather) were British Army in the Essex Regt. (Gallipoli, Malta, Palestine, Egypt & India)
The Battleship was also at Gallipoli, so 8 of the 9 brothers saw action there.
