Glad they have a good mini series coming about the war on the opposite side of the globe from Europe!

The definitive air date has been released -- March 14.

"The epic ten-part miniseries event THE PACIFIC, based on the true stories of World War II Marines, debuts with Part One on SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), followed by other parts debuting on consecutive Sundays at the same time through May 16."

Just put in my Outlook Calendar...

Can't wait.....Eugene Sledge and Sid Phillips from
Mobile, AL are central characters. I have been
privilidged to know both of them, although Sledge
is no longer with us..........

I'm really glad to see them making this. I have to admit that I didn't know much about the ground war in Europe until I watched Band of Brothers. Since then I have been more inclined to read up on it.
