Gents,

Buddy of mine is looking to find out a bit about his Grandfathers plane, an A-20J-5-DO 43-9444. We know it was TIMMY II for a while. Anyone out there have any knowledge of this bird? Crew, unit, TO? Only info I have is her final disposition, listed as salvaged 1945 08 18 on JBaugher's site.

Thanks in advance,

Gary

Havoc 43-9444 is mentioned in the following history of the 668th BS / 416th BG (L).

Scroll down to page 17 for a damage report resulting from a March 19, 1944 raid on St. Omer.

Happy hunting!

I've been scrolling through the same report. Havoc #444 is also mentioned on page 34, again on p. 37 (having received some form of modification), and on p. 49 as participating on D-Day raid.

Gee radio equipment catches fire during pre-flight (p.68).

New CO's ride on raid to France on page 82.

To all who helped thank you very much.

A special shout out to Dan K., you allowed a daughter and grandson the opportunity to see a photograph of their father/grandfather they had previously not seen or knew existed.

Again many thanks.
