Looking out over a cloudy Gulf Of Mexico this morning. While still in the Florida mode of thought, here are a few from NAS JAX.

The Goose shot looks as though it is a hydrofoil of some description on the keel. Anyone know of this trial?

Hi Bill, no special interest in Jax, I just found a resource for some neat old pics. I would have a special interest in seeing some vintage pic of old NAS Atlanta which is now KPDK where I work. I love the pictures of these old air bases, whether Navy, USAAF or RAF etc... Would like to see some of your pics from Jax.

I was just on the base for 4 days over the past 8 weeks. For my trips to Gitmo we fly out of JAX/NAS on an AMC flight
Some of the buildings in these photos are still there. The place is stocked full of nearly fifty P3-C Orions in various states of service and a slew of old S3A vikings. We spent time with two Pakistani aircrews there that are being trained in Anti Sub warfare. Some of them did not know what to make of us hillbilly americans but most of them were great guys. The one thing they said over and over was the abundance of food eateries on every corner in the USA really was shocking. They realized why americans were so fat. They really hung on to that image of the USA.
But they loved the Lockheed products they were flying even more than the Mcdonalds we were feeding them.

Bill Whittle from PJTV.com did a story on the trip with a portion on the guys from pakistan.

Great pics Bill Thanks! In the first picture, the hangar on the right is now EPPS Aviation, & on the left end of the building, 2nd floor is where the Downwind restaurant is now. The middle of the second floor is the KPDK Admin office now.

The second pic is the parking lot on the opposite side of the building from the first pic. A lot of the structure pictured looks pretty close now, as to how it was then.
