I'm glad to see these trips getting press. I went on the reunion trip in 1999 with 60 Iwo vets, it was the most amazing journey I've been on. The stories that were told were amazing, old men pointing at the pillboxes they stormed, the tunnel entrances they closed, the field where they repelled a bonzai attack, etc. Truly the greatest generation. Thanks for posting the link.

Taylor, would you be interested in telling a small story here and maybe with some photos, on your visit to some most hallowed ground  :!: Seems very lucky to have been able to step on the soil of Iwo  .
Thanks.

Steve, I'll dig up some pics and memories when I get home tomorrow and share them. We lugged at least 20 pounds of sand back  :D
