Here are some photos from the day I took my dad to the airport.

Here's my dad taking me for a motorcycle ride:

Image

I decided to show him how good of a "Big Wheel" rider I am:

Image

That didn't work out as well as I had expected though:

Image

After a quick trip to the emergency room, I took my dad to look at my friend's Model-T:

Image

My dad decided not to ride along (one trip to the emergency room a day is enough), so I sat in this aeroplane instead:

Image

It was a really long day and I was really shagged, so I slept while my dad drove home:

Image

Hope you enjoyed our adventure as much as I did. Ciao!

Ah nice pictures, "bdk Junior". You're almost as bad as your father in not spilling the beans about the FW-190 at Chino! Come on kiddo, time to pipe up! :D

Great pictures, btw! :D

Neato post!

But abandon that prissy do-gooder Tank Engine Thomas - go for James the Red Mixed Traffic Engine (with attitude). You know it makes sense!

ABK,
Your dad used you yesterday and you let him get away with it.
Posting all those cute lil kid pictures.
Looks like he didn't have to work on his own aircraft cause he got to run around with you having fun.
You shouldn't tolerate this from your dad. After all he is supposed to be showing you the way.
Be careful, next he'll figure out that he can have you do the work on his T-6 while he gets to roam around having fun.
To keep that from happening you better insist that he get the T-6 done pronto.
Rich
PS- You sure he's your dad? You look a heck of a lot better than he does.

It arrived on Friday, should run in the next week. Not sure about first flight. Usually takes a while to get the bugs worked out on a unique project like this. It really is a thing of beauty though. The workmanship is fantastic.

Any guesses about the powerplant?

And next time I'm posting the photo in black and white and Photoshopping it to look all scratched up. You guys don't fool easy... Must be getting sharpened up from all of JDK's quizzes!

I was *real* popular with my kid when I got up at 6am & told her we were heading off to the airport this morning...

Here she is ignoring me:

Altho she did start to lighten up a bit later...

Well, that's according to the Thomas version of events. Unbiased witness? I think not.

Go for James, a engine with a neat colour. Blue? Pah.

Next time you're there, take a peak in the shop at my airplane. Use it as an excuse, I just cut my instrument panel and starting to mock up the instruments for wiring.
