Does anyone know how the progress is going on make the USS Saratoga into a Museum is going? Rob?

Can the ship be viewed from anywhere? I’d love to get a few shots of her.

Saratoga Project Gets Green Light
05-03-2005 1:50 PM

(North Kingstown, RI) -- Organizers of the Saratoga Museum project say their efforts have received a huge boost from Governor Don Carcieri. Carcieri has indicated he will recommend that the retired Navy supercarrier be allowed to move to the former Quonset-Davisville naval complex, where it will open as a museum, memorial, educational center, and family attraction. Officials with the USS Saratoga Museum Foundation says the assignment of a berth is a turning point in the project. The governor is recommending that the carrier museum be developed at Pier 2 at Davisville, subject to the Foundation's ability to raise ten-million-dollars in two years in order to prove the viability of the project.

That sounds good. But 10 million in 2 years might be kinda hard. Funds are hard to get these days.
