how often is unexploded ordinance unearthed over there? seems like it makes the news about twice a yr here

Figuring that most of the UXB reports that we see in the US are usually because of explosions or the disruption caused I would bet there are hundreds of incidents that are dealt with by local authorities all over Europe that we never hear of. I wonder too if there are any statistics on how many duds there were on average for a particlular raid. Here in the US there is an increase on UXB reports at landfills and recycling centers as veterans die and families dispose of "dud" ordnance and ammunition not realizing that quite often they are still live and very dangerous.
