That's interesting. Has anyone from WIX ever seen these in person and have more pictures of these birds?

I helped Charlie White ( Who was trying to buy all of Sam Goldmans parts at the time) move one from the Airport to the storage compound in either late 2003, or early 2004. I had photo's, but they apparently got "lost" when the Ex relocated.

Is that the same Sam Goldman that owned the Albatrosses at New Smyrna Beach??

That would be him. He owned the Alby with the Dart engines, and a few others. Sam owned lots of things in his life. He was a neat person to talk to. There was a lot of history there. I wish someone had chronicalled all of his doings. It is pretty amazing what he accomplished.

I was there last February. It looked as if the lot was prepared for sale. These birds could be due to be moved, or worse, if the lot does change hands. I don't have any photos posted, but if you are interested in the location this should help...

Just below that map is a list of types, serials and markings. The list was compiled with the assistance of Andy Marden's book.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I drove by there this past January. Couldn't stop due to time limitations, but it's pretty much as described. A bunch of S2 carcasses sitting in a field being slowly overgrown with vegetation. A sad sight.

There's an earlier thread referred to in DaveG's post above. If you go to that thread, DaveG has a post on it (the 11th one down) that provides a link to a lot of photos of the S2's.

We spoke a few times about those birds, he owned all 3 of them (one was disassembled and sitting on two trailers.) Do you know who currently owns the S-2's? Is it Mr White?
