A veteran of many airshows I would guess!

If I win it I'm going to put it right next to the authentic Red Baron signed Blue Max medal I won off of eBay last week...

Doesn't matter that it's signed by Dan. what matters is that it's a nice WWII Seat Pack Chute!

Yeah, but that signature must double the value at least, no?

I worked for Ed from 95-97.
That was on the wall of honor in the back of his hangar IIRC.
A couple of years ago he sold the hangar and much of the Wall of Honor was left behind. The hangar is now home of SureFlight Aircraft Painting and has a Paint Booth big enough to fit a Blackhawk minus its main rotor blades. The end of that booth is where the Wall of Honor stood.
Some one must have taken the items and they have found new homes. This one is now seeking another new home.

Frank,
If that was a Navy Chute it would be good for your Pilot impression!

I know who Ed Shipley is and he seems pretty well preserved to have been a WWII vet.
Someone please tell me who Dan McCue is.

Mudge the ingrant :?

Dan is another current warbird pilot/owner. He is a star after the infamous Yak video. :)

Dan had an NA-50 built up by George Baker back in the 80's for airshow work and later did the same with a Yak-11 with a modified P&W R-2000 on the front. Terrific act with both aircraft.
He later was involved with teh importation of many soviet/iron curtin jet aircraft including L-39's.
He use to perform in the L-39 that was black with white trim and a white star on the tail.
He also currently flies the Collings F4U-5NL. There are some pics on this thread of Dan at the Corsair show.

He's the ne looking at the video camera. he was also graciuos enough to do the night engine run for the photographers at the show.

Great guy and a good friend.

My mistake!
I fixed it but if you noticed it was a lower case "g".

Ah, one of those accidental lower gods...

(FWIW, it's a classic typo error, and as Jerry's said, without the upper case 'G' wrong for the other word anyway, but one that editors look for because you will get that error happen. Some may have noticed a recent news item about a book where 'pepper' was replaced by accident by 'people' suggesting you 'garnish the dish with ground black people'. )

Meanwhile back on the weird world of e-bay history...

that would be a fantastic piece to add to my outfit. Although that would really hinder me getting around, especially if i had to pee!

Frank,
Remember what Fernado on SNL once said:
"It is better to look good than to feel good."
Come on! Buck up!
