Tracking down BuNo for aircraft

Fri May 13, 2005 8:41 am

This is somewhat of a strange question but I have to ask.

Is there a way for me to find out the Buno of the aircraft in my squadron when I was in it, even better my air-wing. At the time I never thought of collecting this type of information but I would love to have it when I go to scan my Navy pictures. So that some day in the future I can walk up to an aircraft in a museum and say that is one of my a/c.

I has able to identify one of my a/c but I have another 16 to identify (we lost 3 and transferred a few more).

Go here for an excellant list of F-14 s/n and squadron info...

I remember there were tips for other types with some similar info on this site at one time. I don't know if it still there. You may want to look around and email the Webmaster with questions.

Thanks that will help with VF-213. Some great info on that site. I remember when the First Navy Female Pilot was killed w/ 213. I did not know the a/c she was flying was a Mig killer.

I found this site, something to push Kelly (my wife) closer to the Edge

Yep I know about that one. I used to contribute, but didn't often see new items posted so I don't bother any more.
