Yesterday, I was surprised to see an American registrated Kaydet in Germany. Not that Kaydets are that rare, but this one was in a complete US Coast Guard livery, and I didn't know the Coastguard ever used the type. It turned out that some 11 Kaydets were used for a very short period, being it from 43 to 47 or 46 to 47.
It was American registrated, N54565 and what I wonder if it recently came to Europe, or that it has been here for a long time, and only for "paperwork" reasons is "based" in the USA, as some other European vintage aircraft are, which are American owned and leased to operators in Europe.

Yes, you are correct that the USCG did indeed operate eleven N2S Kaydets from 1943-47. Do you by chance have a photo that you could post to this website??
As a point of interest the USCG also operated four N3N's 1941-45.
