I am gradually having all my old negs scanned to digital. I have recently completed all of my 1994 shots and have them uploaded to Webshots. I have been enjoying the trip down memory lane, and I thought you might enjoy them as well.
First is the Hamilton Air Show which took place in June. At the time everyone was celebrating the 50th anniversary of D-Day and invasion stripes were everywhere, including on the CWH Dak! In this album you will also find pics of C-FFUZ, the Air Zoo P-47, CWH Corsair, CWH Expeditor and CWH Crane. The more modern equipment included Snowbird #1 with invasion stripes, the Moose Men CF-116 (now on display at RCAFMM), and it was the first time I saw and photographed a F-117. Later in June the Quinte International Air Show was held at Trenton. It featured a rare appearance of the Lockeed 10A CF-TCC, the CWH Lanc, Stearman C-GPTD and Yale 3372. Of course Trenton is better known for the current miltary equipment which included a CC-137 (current at that time), NATO E-3, F-117, CF-116 (now retired), CC-130, F-16, Tornado, CF-188, CC-115, CH-113 and F-117. I also visited the National Capital Air Show in Ottawa in June. There were very few warbirds here except for the very first Harvard 4, which is still operated by National Research Council. At the show were; CT-133, CF-116s, a Belgian F-16, A-4s, T-2s, A-10, AH-1G, CH-135, C-130, Tornado and B-52. Two other airframes of interest was a Beech Starship and a DHC-7. Later in the summer I made a point of stopping by the National Aviation Museum, which is now known as the Canada Aviation Museum. I photographed most of the collection. This is where it really become obvious that I was only starting to develop my photography skills (tripods really are a benefit indoors and I didn’t know at the time I should have been using one). In August I made a trip to the Mirabel Airport in Quebec to attend the Montreal Air Show. Except for a Stearman, there were no warbirds. There was an interesting CH-118 (Huey) in overall yellow with Tiger stripes and a newly restored Beaver. There was also a B-1 with my favorite Lancer noseart so far, Marvin the Martian! I have relatives in Tillsonburg, Ontario, so in late August I made a trip down to T-Burg for their airshow. This was their 2nd and last airshow, and it was a special event. It featured the B-25 “Guardian of Fredom” which was shown off in a rather spirited air display with passes as close to knife edge as a B-25 can get!
