All-

It is with great excitement that I announce that I will soon be able to post, with permission, a number of photos my Grandfather took when he was with the 96th BG in WWII. He was a bombardier on B-17G's, and these are photos that have never been seen outside of a few family members. Here's to hoping they arrive safely on disc in the next few days so I can share a few with you fine people here! A little teaser about some of the photos, as narrated by my uncle Richie:

"There are three pictures of a crashed 96th B.G. B-17. These are pictures from when Pop was shot-down on the 2nd Hamburg mission,March 20,1945. Pictures were taken with the wreckage in Luxemburg,(they flew it in and crash-landed in a field). U.S. troops had crossed the Rhine river only days before. I can tell you a lot about this,if you don't already know. They did four missions in four days, the first two days to the U-Boat pens at Kiel, then two runs to Hamburg. Pop's father wrote down the story on the back of the picture. By the way, everyone walked away from the crash, and they were back over Germany the next day."
