A fire cat a Mig 15, Mig 21 and C-47?

This past sunny weekend at Arlington (WA).

I couldn't get any closer to shoot this one or the Beautiful S-2 that was behind the storage container.

Umm... that ain't no S-2. That's the only remaining PBY-6A Tanker in the US - N85U, owned by Flying Fireman Inc, out of Washington.

Here's a 2009 video of it arriving at the Whidbey Island NAS Seaplane Base - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5-Fvw1-NiU

There is an S-2 up there. It's just not visible in this shot.

Thanks for the pics! I always see that C-47 during the Arlington Fly-In and always wondered what it looked like close up.

I know this is not an S-2, I'm sure my headline says fire cat? The S-2 is off to the left of the cat. It is behind a storage container, and only a few feet of the vertical is visible without climbing the fence. I asked for permission to shoot the Mig 15 but the mechanics and owner were at lunch on the field. It didn't feel right to bug them while they ate. There are several Alpha jets and what looks like a real nice mallard in the same hangar as the Mig 15.

The S-2 Tanker is commonly referred to as the "Fire Cat" and the S-2T Tanker is the "Turbo Cat". Didn't realize you were using it in a different context.

That particular S-2 is pretty stock right down to the squadron 'circus wagon' paint job and, I believe, still has the retractable radome in the belly.
