Charlie Wood, the CAF's DFW Wing Leader asked if I would pass this info on:

The DFW Wing will be attending and supporting the Fly-in at Terrell, Texas, on 18 SEP 10. We even have a DFW Wing member (Jack Bradshaw No.3 B.F.T.S. Ponca City, Ok.) that will attend. He also flew P-47's in the 56th FG Zempke's Wolf Pack (google John T. Bradshaw 56 FG 61,62,63 Squadron), he flew YORKSHIRE LASS. His scorecard was: Kills 4 and 1/2; (2) Me109's, (2) Folk Wolf 190's, 1/2 Me 110 (shared with his C.O.) and a Buzz bomb (No credit as it was not manned).

Their event is on aerovents.com and will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010, Flights of Our Fathers Fly-in No.1 B.F.T.S. ( British Flight Training School). Lloyd Nolen was an instructor there during the war...that is where he became determined to fly fighters, as he was feeling left behind. We will have most of the DFW Wing and member owned planes in attendance. Many others will have their warbirds there.

I will be there along with Nigel Julian - webmaster of http://www.56thfightergroup.co.uk/, and two other 56th FG pilots - Russ Kyler and Bob Winters. Really looking forward to it!

Zack

Well, that is too bad. It is always a challenge trying to marshall that tiny little airplane that has the turning radius of a C-5. Actually a C-5 probably turns a little tighter! I will miss you there.

And I bet it's really a challenge when the pilot can't see over the glare shield! Thank goodness for phone books!

(Have I said I love you lately?) :D
