Hello all;
I got this last night and I'm trying to see if anyone on WIX in the Upstate New York area (Granville, NY) might be able to help them. They don't have a large budget, but they can pay for fuel. Last minute I know, but can any one help them? Stearman, N3N, BT, AT anything would be welcome.
PM me if you think you can and I'll give you the contact info.
Thanks.
Jerry

Dear Mr. O'Neill,
We would love to have at least one aircraft fly over the town in honor of our WWII Vets for the Veterans Clock Re-dedication on 18 Sep 2010 in Granville, NY. The clock re-dedication (from 1950s) will take place at 1700-1900 on 18 Sep...AF's Birthday..We do have approval for the fly-by and the weather is expected to be well above VFR minimums.
Should be great flying over Vermont/Lake Champlain, Lake George, Hudson River, etc.

Please let me know if you or anyone you know are interested in helping us out...it would be greatly appreciated by the Vets/towns people.

Thank you,
Vr,
Mac
JEFFREY R. MACEACHRON, Colonel, USAF

Wish I'd have had more lead time on this, I could have gotten some T-38s up there.

I think were on this!! Thanks Jerry, talked to dad about it and he said that him and my uncle were talking about taking the Beech 18 to Rutland to look at a T-6 that my uncle is helping put together. Will try and talk to them in the morning, they may head down a bit later in the day to make this happen.

Jeff;
Thanks so much. I was called by the Col. at Hanscom after he had called the New England Air Museum. We talked about a military fly-over and though he had his DOD 2535 approved, he couldn't seem to get any units to help. I said I'd post it on WIX to see if anyone might be able to help out.

I really wasn't a part of the whole thing, just a pipeline or a means to an end.
Thanks Jeff, it really shows what we can do as one!
How did it go?
Blue skies,
Jerry

Well it was short notice for us too as we had plans. I called my uncle with his Beech 18 and he could not do it so I relayed it off to my friend and co-worker who has the PT-23 projects. He then called the guys that he bought a BUNCH of Pt-23 parts from who mess around with a PT-17 and there flying PT-23. I knew these guys were just over the hill from this town in NY. My friend John said that they were on it!!!! I will find out on monday if things went ok. Guess quite a few had their hands in on this one! Sounded like a good cause!!
