I am putting together a bunch of photos for the registry. I have a picture of a Texan that was previously identified by Steve Tournay as C-BTEX. I don't have my copy of WD4 with me. Can anyone tell me what the c/n or s/n is?

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I ran your request by one of the Canadian aircraft experts, Jerry Vernon, and he came up with this.

There were apparently TWO different T-6G aircraft with the registration C-GTEX.....same owner.

C-GTEX #1:
T-6G c/n 168-094
Manufactured: 1949
Imported in 1993(Last C of R was issued 09 Jul 93)
Registration cancelled 31 Mar 95
Owner was Aviation Maintenance Ltd., Box 446, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario
Base of Operation: Bar River, Ontario
Former Military Mark Displayed as "U. S. ARMY X512"
(That's a data entry I've never seen before on the CCAR!!)

C-GTEX #2:
T-6G c/n 182-821
Manufactured: 1992
Imported in 1998(Registered to first owner on 06 Nov 98)
Owner was James Springer, P. O. Box 214, Echo Bay, Ontario
Base of Operation: Bar River, Ontario
Sold to new owner(same address!!) on 12 Jul 99
New owner was Aviation Maintenance Ltd., P. O. Box 214, Echo Bay, Ontario
Base of Operation: Bar River, Ontario
Registration cancelled 07 Apr 00

Both aircraft are listed on the current Warbird Director CD-ROM if you have it.

C/N 168-94 has a long history/long string of owners, and has been N9053Z/C-GTEX/N9053Z again. The Canadian owner is listed as Dan Springer/Aviation Maintenance Ltd.., Bar River, Ontario, and markings as "USAAC 13296/X-512".
The USAF s/n was 49-2990.
The most recent owner listed is Gardner Capital Management Corp., Briar Cliff Manor, NY, from 28 Jul 99.

C/N 182-821 has a much shorter history. Was USAF 51-15124. Canadian owner is listed as Dan and Annie Springer/Aviation Maintenance Ltd., Echo Bay, Ontario.
Returned to USA on 7 Apr 00 as N821DS, to Springer Aerospace Ltd., Wilmington, DE, then sold in Nov 00 to Matthew J. Bennett, Frederick, MD.

Hope this helps. Which one are you after??

Thanks Dick! I was looking for #1. I do have the WD4 CDROM but haven't had a chance the past few evenings to look at it (and I don't have a copy here at work).

Now I can send a bunch of pictures to Scott for the registry.
