Well, after 10 years together, Shae & I decided to get officially hitched. It was *originally* going to be a small, quiet affair, on 10/10/10 at Culpeper Airport.....that lasted till she found out that Collings was bringing the Bombers to Warrenton Airport, which is about8 miles from Culpeper. I, as y'all might imagine, was dragged utterly against my will into this plan...

DEEPEST thanks to WIX's own, and my friend, JimH, who helped coordinate all the "moving pieces" to get this done. Also the flight crew of the B-17, who really couldn't have been any easier to work with. We got married, in period attire, in flight in 9-0-9..with National Capitol Squadron's BT-13 flying escort duty alongside. Heck, we even made the local paper! Shae's quote in the paper was "This is our thing" (Warbirds, duh) "This is what I wanted to do in the first place"...how could I *NOT* marry a girl whose dream wedding is in a B-17???? Only possible way it could have been any better would have been to do this in a B-26...but that wasn't a realistic option. :(

Shae did our wedding invites modeled after WW2 vintage Western Union telegrams.

Congratulations and wow. That is really cool. One of the best wedding ideas I've ever heard of.

I missed the Collings birds at my local airport (Gaithersburg, MD), which was the previous stop on the tour before yours, because I had to head down to Norfolk. I'm hoping to swing by and see them in Westminster this weekend with my 7 year old daughter in tow. I haven't figured out if we're going to do Saturday or Sunday yet.

Congrats on the nuptials, too bad you didn't have time to get a period haircut though.

How does a guy like you get a girl like that? Must be the warbirds... Congratulations, Jason, and wish you many more happy years together.

Congrats! looked like you guys had a great time. Thats the 3rd wedding I've seen done on 909 in 8 years, really cool thing to do. If I ever get hitched it will be on the 17...or under it :P

Congrats man. She sounds like a real keeper. I wih you guys a life time of happiness. Also a well done to the Collings Foundation for making such a special day even more memorable. It is amazing how machines that were built for war, also manage to bring such joy, and friendship to the world.

Congradulations to you both! I still don't understand what she sees in him. Wanted to make it up for the wedding but work is getting in the way of too many things around here lately.

Jase, what no gocart to serve as the limo or have you stopped driving them like your buddy. You just got married so I won't mention your nickname.

Craig, you might have better luck getting him to give up warbirds then to give up the ponytail.

Congrats again and see ya around the pattern soon,
Bob

Thank you, everyone! It was THE COOLEST day!
And to answer that oft asked question...the Eu de 60 Weight is just irresistible! And you gotta love a guy who gives you your own 'snoopy tool' as a gift...now that's romantic! A link to many more photos will be posted shortly. Thanks...WIXers are awesome:) I don't post as much as my HUSBAND does, but I enjoy reading here frequently.
