Just picked up the latest Trade-A-Plane today and found a very interesting ad in the Warbird section for a B Mk. 35 Mosquito project. The ad says it is pretty much complete (all major components...) dissassembled for restoration, and the phone number given would place it in Ontario. Bob Jenns' (sp) aircraft is not in Ontario, so does anyone have any idea what aircraft this might be? The only possibility I could think of would be the Windsor group's CF-HMR, being built from mostly new components, so I'm not sure it really fits the bill. Jim

Another possible is the Calgary Museum B.35 that has been in storage all these years. But I would be surprised if they would sell it.

P.S.: Jim - keep in mind that just because the phone number is in Ontario doesn't mean the plane is...

Hi Jim,
I pondered the fact that perhaps it is being sold through a broker, or that the owner may have more than one address. Deffiniately a possibility. The description given does not really tie in with any of the Canadian Mossies current conditions that I am aware of. I see some of the 'blokes' over on the FlyPast board have taken me to task for simply reporting what is printed in the advert. Hopefully this mystery will be solved soon...

I know Vince O'Connor had or has lots of Mossie parts but nothing that would make a project.

Don't think so somehow, nobody's taken anyone to task in any of those FP posts on this subject...... :?

All thats happend on FP is that your thread has been cross posted & now talk of which possible Mossi. it is.

I think perhaps the 'Can't be any truth to this' post kind of hit me the wrong way. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it sure sounds like I'm being labled a liar. My appologies if that isn't the case. Not trying to start anything, just wondered why that was said.... And it was a great day at work by the way. :wink:

I would certainly hope you weren't being labelled a liar, the way I took that comment was that the poster was expressing great suprise that there was a Mosquito being offered for sale whilst possibly being concerned that a potentially airworthy Mosquito may leave Canada. I could well be totally wrong here but I would hope not.

Firsly I am NOT calling anyone a Liar I am just stating that there cant be any truth to a canadian mosquito project being sold. We only have 5 one in ottawa one in edmonton one in vancouver and one in windsor and one in calgary. None of these groups would consider selling their prized aircraft. Are you sure it is not meant to say Ontario California?
How about scanning the ad so that we can all see it/

I remember a few years back, reading an article in either Warbirds Int. or AirClassics. It was an indepth look at all the Mossie's State side (also I believe Canada). It talked about alot of different aircraft and their post military careers. Including several that dropped off the radar and disappeared into the void of obscurity back as far as the 60's and 50's. Perhaps this Mossie is a long lost bird that someone with a little fore thought, stashed away many years ago. Would be a neat story to tell if it were.

Well, I sent them an e-mail; lets see what comes back. Jim, I certainly didnt doubt you; I am just curious to know what is for sale.

I did find this, which kind of suggests a museum:

Rob,

My understanding is that Merizan is restoring PZ474 and another NF Mossie for the Swedish Air Force Museum. I've seen pics somewhere of PZ474, but I am really interested to hear more about the NF Mossi which I think is MM625.

TA717 is now with Jim Dearborn along with RG300. I guess both this planes are just collections of metal parts. Again does anyone know more about this project?

The one other mystery Mosi I would love to know more about is PF670 which was rumored to be with the CAF.
