If it floats like a duck.........fly's like a duck........its not always a duck!!!!

Someone asked how big the float is for a N3N and I mentioned how we got ours and its rough size. Here are 2 pics fresh off the scanner.

Our float as I found it in Fall River Mass.

Once dad made the deal, we needed to get it home!!! Our PBY tip float

Don't know why I feel so dopey asking, but I gotta: what's the PBY comment in reference to?

Very cool photos! As an avid canoe and kayak guy, I could have some fun showing that car-topping pic to friends -- but first, may I? 8)

I posted the story on how we aquired it and the people at Fall River thought it was a tip float to a PBY. Dad and I both knew better on what it really was so we bought it. Its funny that your a canoe guy because the guy we talked to wanted to cut the top off and make a big canoe out of it for 6 of his buddies!! Glad we got there first.

Boy, I'm glad y'all got there first too! Seems to me like that planing hull thing woulda made pretty a crummy canoe at that. Geeze, I wonder if it occurred to him to try selling it, and using the proceeds for a *real* hull? Ooof, whatever. Anyone knows canoe people are weird.
