That's just a couple of weeks of work for some of the sharp tools out here. You could be flugenplannen in no time flat.

Are there any genuine 100% German-built Me-108s in existence ?

BFW stopped production in 1942, and the line was moved to Nord in France. After the war Nord umm.. collected all the ex-Luftwaffe airframes, took them apart and used the bits for new Nord 1001 and 1002s (Pinguins). I know some claim to have an Me-108, but is it really ?

NORD 1101 tricycle gear post war, if it was German, a couple of weeks bitte, but it's French so it could be decades before it's out of committee meetings, then there's selecting the rebuilder, then there's........................................

What an uguly airplane. The Bf-108 is a beautiful airplane! Why would you put a nose wheel on a great airplane?? The people who do (RV's with a nosewheel, Tri gear Beech 18, Luscombe 11 with training wheels....etc...) will have to answer to God one day! Real airplanes have a stick and a tailwheel!

This is actually the French-built version of the Me208, not 108. The 208 was a tri-grear design and differed from the 108 in many ways. The French call it a NORD 1100series Noralpha (there being 1101 and 1102 models, depending on engine fit).

The Bf108 D-EBEI flown by Lufthansa Berlin Stiftung (Lufthansa's historic flight) is a genuine German-made aircraft, built in 1940 and captured by US forces in Tunisia in 1943. It was taken to the USA, and brought back to Germany in 1990.

There may be others that are German build, but D-EBEI is the one I've read most about. Over here in the UK we also have a Lycoming powered 108 that has numerous parts stamped with Messerschmitt marks, hinting that it was originally German-built.

Yes, on this link on the french forum "Pegase.tv", you can see a recent pictures of a classical gear Nord 1001: http://forum.pegase.tv/viewtopic.php?f= ... &start=180

A small part of the end of the production of 1001 received tricycle gear.
