Might be heading to Oklahoma City in the next couple of weeks, was wondering besides the air park at Tinker AFB if there is anyone
out there that lives in the area that I could visit and get information on aircraft from them including photos.

Anyone know anyone from the Oklahoma CAF chapter?

Cheers!

Paul

Brent Hisey's aircraft are at Wiley Post -- Miss America, a Skyraider, L-39, and a T-28.

Ordinarily I'd invite you to come on up and visit Vance AFB, but I'll be TDY for the summer.

This link will take you to Mike's Aerial Locator. Plug Oklahoma City in and it brings up lots of hits...

Paul,

The 45th Infantry museum is pretty neat, and the aircraft are all outdoors and visible. Of course, right now we are in the midst of receiving our second foot of snow (yes, I said FOOT) in a week, so it is a bit chilly to be out and about. If the Tinker air park is open, the aircraft are presented nicely (albeit again, outdoors). There are several aircraft in an aviation section of the Science Museum Oklahoma, which is right around the corner from the 45th museum. Aviation is not their focus, but the aircraft that they have on display are pretty nicely kept. If you get to Tulsa, let me know and I can point you in the right direction here as well.

The 45th Infantry Museum is nice, but make sure to call before you go if you want top see any of the indoor displays; according to their facebook page they had multiple water line breaks in the cold weather last week and are closed until they get the cleanup completed. Don't know if the outdoor area where the planes and vehicles are located will be open in the meantime, or if the grounds will be closed down completely...

Regards,

Andy

Thanks for the pitch! I would like to point out that copying the URL won't get someone to the results you are looking at. You need to scoll down to the section titled "Tell Others About These Search Results" and copy the text for the section labeled "Forum Link:". When you paste that text into your post here in WIX you will get...
ImageAerial Visuals Locator Search - Oklahoma City
...and this gives you a listing of locations in Oklahoma City.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Thanks guys! Got a bunch of invites, I might be actually down there next week? Not sure yet, but just getting a heads up to everyone in the area.

Randy, when will you be leaving on TDY? Would love to come up to Vance and visit too!
