Driving by the airport I saw F8F-1 standing on her nose and fire trucks responding (could have been unrelated, as I could not stop).
I snapped this photo of 95255. No other info at this time.

Is it a secret where you took that photo?

Thanks. So, I take it that is Rod's aircraft?

That is bad news. If that prop was turning, that's an engine rebuild plus new props - VERY expensive!

Ditto on the pilot, I'm assuming he/she is alright, judging by the photo.

Don't want to say too much, but that may be a good thing... that it was that minor.

Looks like it was taxiing not landing.(runway way in the background) Either the brakes locked up(by themselves, failure) or he got on them to much and locked up. Sucks but at least he's at home field.

Sorry, but done for a movie shoot/photo stills for an upcoming Reno Air Race type movie.

Surprised to see it on the web, but what can you do...

AND San Antonio rocks.

San Antonio is just fine, thank you! Been here 25 years and still appreciate it.
From what I heard the pilot - Not Rod - is OK. That bit of news got out pretty fast. One of my friends over there was surprised. I was airborne at the time, but at 5C1 and not listening to KSAT approach - which I often monitor when I'm in the practice area.

Two conflicting stories, so which is it? Was it intentional for a movie or a real accident/incident? Someone please confirm!
