We got a great "personal airshow" from a beautiful Corsair last night around dusk. The pilot was staying very close to the Colorado Springs airport, doing at least 3 approaches for touch-and-gos before putting it in for a landing. It's deceptive, but I swear he was moving quicker than some of the f-16's and f-18's we see landing daily. I've seen most of the airworthy Corsairs out there at one time or another, but this one looked and sounded special...and it doesn't get any better with the late evening light and the snow covered mountains in the background!

I can only surmise with WestPac Aviation on the east side of the airport that I was seeing one of the first flights after restoration for the Korean War Hero: http://www.koreanwarhero.com/Photos_Progress.html

Shh. Don't tell my wife that the reason we bought a house with a big deck on approach to the Colorado Springs airport is to watch the airplanes!
