Yet another golden evening graced with splendid flying at Old Warden. The evening brought first displays for "Willy" Hackett in the Southern Martlet and Trevor Roche in the Sopwith Triplane and both did a splendid job of showing the aircraft off in the evening sun.

These evening displays have a magic all of their own when the sun shines and if there's anyone out there who hasn't attended one it's well worth sampling - once you've tried it, you'll come back again.

Many thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who laboured in the sun (and in the dark) to ensure that the crowd yet again had a great day out.

I had a problem with my Phototainer on Saturday night which resulted in me losing a couple of hundred photos from the middle of the display. I hope to be able to recover some of these and I'll add some more photos later if there's anything worthwhile.

Rob

Rob,

Both you and Nick seem to get the best pictures every time. Thanks a bunch! These pics are impressive yet again.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Thanks for the comments.

Mike, both Nick and I have the privilege of being liveside, which does help us get a little closer to the action with less obstacles. There again, Old Warden's a very good venue for photography and the pilots really do their best to present the 'planes well.
